I'm about to pull the trigger on a yoder. The question is 640 or 1500.

The bigger grill is way over kill for what I need, but I just keep getting drawn to it.

Someone talk me through the differences and the extra 1600 bucks. :)
Trust me when I say....it won't be overkill. "If they taste it, they will come". Without fail, once people eat food of this thing, everyone you know will want you to Q for them. Get the largest you can afford.
No need!! You just did.

Fact is, if you buy the 640 after looking at this thread and others and research, you will be always thinking, " Dang I should'a bought the 1500.

It's only money... Do it right the First Time or don't do it.

Ha! - Fact!:clap2:

If you get the YS640 you might be completely satisfied with it, then again you might still be wondering about owning a YS1500 after owning the YS640 for awhile. The next thing you know the YS640 is up for sale and the YS1500 is on order. :decision::noidea:

Buy once, cry once

Did you have Yoder custom cut your cooking team logo? If so, how much extra was it to do, if you don't mind me for asking?

Got my used YS480 today :)
Can't wait to try it.
He threw in an older Maverick w/ remote that works great & 40 lbs. of pellets.

$825.00 :)

The game is a foot

.....finally! I have some time to get Prospero fired up. 12 racks of loin backs it shall be.

I'm trying to decide if I will keep the racks horizontal or if I will turn them vertically.

For as long as I can remember, we have had ribs or a pig roast on Labor Day....

I think it's totally ok to name your smoker or not name it at all.

You obviously did not attend the Smittyjonz smoker naming seminar and bake sale.

Prospero? Aight. :-D

I will have to come up with names for all of them now. Lol

The offset, Yoder pellet, the large vintage egg, and the BGE mini.

I believe I will call my offset, " The wrist breaker".
Since I broke my wrist unloading it from my truck with a friend. Lol
