Let us know how the smoke level is (taste wise) on those briskets.... I like a heavy smoke profile. Main reason I didn't get a pellet smoker.
In our opinion it provides just the right amount. The smoke it produced on my unwrapped ribs yesterday, was unreal! Even with wrapping the brisket in BP the smoke seemed right on point. If I hadn't of wrapped, it would definitely had more. I have owned pellet cookers before and can say with certainty that this particular model truly cooks similarly to a stick burner.

Wow!! Looks great!!

Do you always wrap in butcher paper? Like it? I've not tried it yet, but will soon as my LSG gets here.

So the taste is definitely smokey as a stick burner?
Thanks!

Love it! I didn't always wrap in it before, but lately have been thrilled with the results. You should definitely try it.

I would say yes, a clean burning stick burner.:-D When is your LSG scheeduled to arrive?

Hopefully during my road trip to TX in the middle of Oct. I think I timed it just right. They had almost 13 wk notice on my order. I was going out there anyway, so gonna save some coin and pick it up :)

Can't wait, but I'm already wanting an offset to add to it...lol
I think I have a sickness.... And it's just me!! Single guy with no kids... LOL

Friends and Family though...So I'm sure I'll have plenty to cook for..

Sweet! I hope it works out. I hear ya. I have a number of cookers already, but even my wife said that there seems to be something about a barrel cooker and how it effects the taste of the food.

Briskets look fantastic.
Thanks Kevin! My wife and I started nibbling and almost couldn't stop.
Purty and effective. Seems like a great smoker. Happy for you Wiz...
Thank you. So far so good. Loving this thing!

Beautiful food! Your nuts I can't talk myself into direct grilling and letting all that grease get down in there
HA HA! I felt the same way at first, but strangely, it's not as bad as you may think.

Top of the mornin to ya:-D. Cooking a couple racks of ribs for a friend that is recovering from a broken tibia. Also have a pork butt in for a family gathering later.

A friend of mine broke his tibia recently and is down in the dumps since surgery. I hope these ribs will help lift his spirits. The pork is for a family gathering later today :-D

Have a great Saturday guys and gals!

How many pounds of pellets have you burned through? That bad boy has been getting a workout.

About 40#. After today, he will get some rest:rolleyes:

It feels so good to cook somewhat old school for a change (outside of competing, where everything gets wrapped)

It's been about 30 hours since I let the fire burn out in Prospero, and I'm going through withdrawal..lol I feel lonely. I may have to go out to the garage and say hello.

There have been a few questions raised recently about the YS1500, so I thought I would bump this thread.

I have become swamped with work lately, so unfortunately Prospero has had a break:sad:. I hope to fire him up again this weekend with turkey breasts:-D

I'm about to pull the trigger on a yoder. The question is 640 or 1500.

The bigger grill is way over kill for what I need, but I just keep getting drawn to it.

Someone talk me through the differences and the extra 1600 bucks. :)

No need!! You just did.

Fact is, if you buy the 640 after looking at this thread and others and research, you will be always thinking, " Dang I should'a bought the 1500.

It's only money... Do it right the First Time or don't do it.
