Sound the horns! Prospero the YS 1500 is here!

Congrats on the GC

Fantastic photo. Awesome that you are picking up Toyota as a potential sponsor...

Oh what a feeling, It's Swine Thyme :biggrin1:
Thanks!

HAHA! I wish!

Prospero worked hard this weekend at the Logandale IBCA competition. In the end we managed a 1st in Chicken, 2nd in Brisket, and a 6th in Ribs and GRAND CHAMPION. Prospero is proving to be a fierce force to be reckoned with. :)

Well done, Sir! :clap2:

How much better is it compared to the 640? Is it just roomier or do you feel it cooks better?
Well, I can't speak from experience here, because I have never personally cooked on a 640. Pretty much everything I've read steers towards the 1500's ability to put on flavor reminiscent of a stick burner, and I would have to agree.
Well done, Sir! :clap2:
Thanks!

I would be remiss not to post the obligatory turkey shot cooked on Prospero. I injected it with cajun butter and cooked it at 275 with cherry and oak..... the cinnamon rolls were glazed with a vanilla-orange icing.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thanks Kevin. I really like the color cherry and oak put on food, when burning cleanly.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I did but I try to make everyday holiday

I hope you had a great day as well.

I've never really considered a pellet, but this thread has me considering one now. The ys1500 looks awful nice and if it produces results like a big offset, that makes it real tempting. Congrats on the rig and the success you are having with it

Personally, I think you would love it! The best pellet cooker I've ever owned. I like all pellet cookers, but this one does the job like no other that I have owned.
