Beef shanks and tatoes.

This was one of those "I'm too busy to cook" meals.
I've been putting the garden in, have baby calves on the ground, chicks and ducks hatching... This was one of those times where the drum came in handy.

Seasoned, floured and browned the shanks in lard..

Beef stock, onions and more seasonings. Into the drum til tender.

The drum comes in handy. It's nice to let it go while I'm getting things done.

Hope everyone is having a great spring so far!

Thanks for looking!

Looks delicious! I’d need a nap after that :)

Thank you Doug! It definitely ended my work day. lol

If that tastes half as good as it looks, that had to be an amazing meal!

Thanks Jeremy! I really enjoyed it. The shanks get so tender... I pretty much left them alone til I was finished with work. A no fuss meal.

Wow! You make it look so easy and so tasty. Comfort food doesn't get any more comforting than that! Good luck with the farm critters.

Jeanie I've never had beef shank. Is that something you stock up on or are they from your own cows?

That's a truly fine comfort meal, Jeanie. Sounds like you've got a lot going on with the critters and the garden, so the timing was perfect!
