I was gifted this little Bobber cooker awhile back and decided the first cook should be fish. I headed to the little lake and was lucky enough to catch one.... just one, but that's all I really needed. :-D
The bobber has a hot coal rack, a coal basket and a cooking grate.
I tossed the basket to the side and set it up for indirect grilling.
I cleaned the fish the night before and let it soak in salt water til the next day.
Prepped some goodies...I was going with southwest flavors... peppers, cilantro, garlic, onion, lime...
cleaned some leek leaves...
topped the leaves with the prepped goodies...
the seasoned catfish..
more goodies...
more leek leaves, tied and ready to go.
had a visit from some wild turkeys...
I flipped the catfish after about 20 minutes..
cooked til the meat was flaky...
made some Mexican rice as a side and supper was ready.
I've cooked fish this was in the past. I like the added flavor from the leek leaves. The fish had a little bite of heat from the seasonings and jalapenos but not too hot for me.
The little bobber cooker worked just fine. :-D
