Just got back from a week of visiting friends in Texas. One of my bestest friends made shrimp and grits while I was there. They were so tasty I had to make it when I got home.
This is the recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Old-Cha...e7=Home%20Page

Brought home some nice gulf shrimp... I shelled, deveined and butterflied them. Seasoned with salt, cayenne and fresh lemon juice.

Sorry the photos aren't the best. I was in a hurry. :)

fried the bacon..

fried andouille sausage too.

cooked the peppers, onions and garlic in bacon drippings...

since I was in such a hurry, I used the little table top gas grill...flattened the shrimp for quick cooking.

topped the shrimp with a foiled pan to keep them from curling..

Really liked the recipe, will make it again for sure.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks so much for the kind comments everybody!!
 Love you too Garrett!:hug:

One thing I will change next time I cook this is use smaller shrimp. These were great but I had to cut them up while eating so I could get a bite of shrimp in each spoonful. :-D

You never cease to amaze me with your skill and innovation and ability to create exceptionally delicious lookin' food.

Those grits and shrimp look fantastic.

:faint::faint: outstanding Jeanie

Thank you Ty!
Wanted to thank you for the Swamp Dust recommendation on another thread awhile back. I found some in Texas this weekend and can't wait to try it. Thanks :thumb:

Yeah, those pics look simply horrible... :p

Great looking cook dear. Makes me want to try it and I don't like grits...

Terry thank you! I know grits aren't for everyone but they are one of my favorites. :becky:

In a Hurry. Sheesh, imagine if you had time.
Oh wait, we've seen your dishes when you've had time,
and they are awesome as well.

Never seen shrimp laid out that way for cooking. I will have to try that sometime!
Beautiful and very tasty looking cook as usual Jeanie! :thumb:

Jeanie,

SHEESH---you visited friends in TX and did not stop to see us in the FL Panhandle? We are CRUSHED!!!!!!! 8)

That is the most awesome shrimp and grits I have ever seen!

Mrs Kapn loves them.
I normally can take or leave them.
But...I would be all over those! 8)
