I’m in the process of updating the cookers on my deck and gave my original Rectec to my daughter. I picked up a 1070 because I wanted the smaller footprint. My original plan was to go back to a Kamado (Big Joe) but decided that I’m probably too lazy to not have a pellet grill available.

Maybe a technical foul to not go with a naked fatty but went a different route for the first cook and just threw on some chicken meatballs that they sell at Costco. First time we’ve ever had this variety — pretty good flavor and a nice kick. My favorite is still the cranberry and jalapeño ones they sell at Christmas. Awesome appetizer with some of the Blues Hogs Raspberry Chipotle sauce on it.

Keep an eye on those back vents. Mine had buildup due to a series of greasy cooks, the smoke and greasy vapors find other paths out of the grill. Degreased places that shouldn't need degreasing this weekend.

Sorry for the late response to all. I didn’t get any pictures of the finished product. We did try them with a few different sauces and the Pineapple Habanero Rib Candy from Texas Pepper Jelly was the winner. It still wasn’t as good as the others with the Raspberry Chipotle so I’ll keep trying things.

Here’s a couple pictures of the pooper. I like the size and footprint. Little better headroom (and sliding shelf) so don’t feel like I gave much space up vs my 680 and it’s just about half the space.

And one with it’s new neighbor — still haven’t decided if I made a bad choice on that one.

Nice setup! Sunglasses are a must when looking at that corner of the deck… lol.

No kidding. The grills are bad but the prep table becomes almost unusable at the wrong time of day. All of it gets pretty darn hot too.

I used to have an awning that covered where the grills are but we switched things around and now I’m more exposed
