Dyna-Glo Charcoal Grill - opinions?

agree with Smit, it weighs 50 lbs more which is always a good thing in a cooker.

I have looked at them in store and was not impressed. Felt very flimsy. The charcoal elevator seems like a good idea, but the display models never seem to move smoothly and that is without any charcoal waying in. In that price range you have better options.

Does anyone know what the distance between the bottom of the charcoal basket(s) and the grate is when the basket(s) are all the way down, on either of these?

It doesn't look like the distance could be very large on either. Look at the body to get an idea, I would guess as far as 8" and as close as 3". I regularly have my HB fire grate lower than 8". They have a 14" swing.

Note the related items. There is an all black Dyna Glow for $240 and a Char-Broil for $99 that has an adjustable height fire grate. I thought about one of these but read some bad reviews, to flimsy was the most common one
