B&B 10# Oak and 8# Mesquite they’re easy to handle and almost always 100% usable. Unwanted items are mostly non existent. I also purchase the big bags in Hickory and XL. I really enjoy B&B Lump. It came into my life when the original Ozark Oak 10# bags disappeared. B&B Lump has worked great, however......

I enjoy trying various lump. Currently have big bags of B&B Hickory, Blues Hog, Fogo, Jealous Devil, Central Market (mostly 1-2 each some 3) and 8 15# bags of Rancho Viejo.

Even the small pieces at bottom of B&B bag burn excellent

I've never seen the small bags.

How does the price compare?

I’ve only seen them (small bags) at United Supermarket. They frequently sell for 5.99$
8# mesquite as well as the 10# Oak, regular $6.99. Its close but a few pennies more this way

I don't know if you can ever go back, but here is the Ozark Oak listed on Amazon. About twice as expensive as buying in the store and if you do not have prime, perhaps out of your price range.

Also available from Walmart and it says free 2 day shipping. Still higher than what was available until recently here locally.

Also available on eBay with free shipping and quantity discount.

And Target. Target?

Harp's, an employee owned regional grocery chain, started carrying Ozark Oak again about two years ago in 10 and 20 pound bags(never had 20 pound bags available before). Went to buy some last weekend and found none. Could not find anyone in the store who knew if the item was discontinued or just out of stock. The above examples may answer the question

If you have the itch....

Thanks,

Robert

I started using lump in my kettle and pbc but the burns were too fast, so I’m going back to briquettes. I actually picked up 2 bags of b&b briquettes bc I’m tired of kingsford ash and taste. Here’s to finding the perfect charcoal.

I've been using B&B Oak Lump for the last few cooks in my WSM. I normally cook H&F and I've been surprised by the amount of lump that's left over after a cook (compared to briquettes). B&B gets hot, smells nice, and doesn't smoke much. Good stuff.

If you look closely all of those listings go back to a company called Spreetail.

I noticed that as I was posting the links and would assume someone has came up with an internet store to sell the Ozark Oak charcoal from with one central shipping point.

I've been looking for a bag of B&B Oak Briquettes, and it's like chasing Bigfoot. Online says Home Depot, Ace, Target and Academy. I go to the stores and all anybody seems to stock is lump. I don't want lump, I want briquettes.

It should show if they have briquettes online. When I google searched for briquettes I also included “near me” and it showed the stores’ stock of what kind of B&B they supplied.

I'll have to try lump at some point, currently burning a bag of their Char Logs in my CharGriller 980, which worked fantastic for a 10 hour pork butt smoke on the 4th, other than one bridge off. I tried another brand of lump at one point, but it was terribly ashy.
