80 TURKEYS and full Thanksgiving meals for Homeless vets and breast cancer families undergoing treatment.. The Shirley pit(nicknamed 'Abrams',) built like a tank and performs amazingly..loaded with 36 birds and wasnt full..

Brethren cooks are assigned an item and have to cook 30-50 of each.. we converge on a churche, assemble all the items into appropriate sized meals depending on family size, and then the meals are personally delivered to the families. Some were homeless vets, and others were families undergoing breast cancer treatment. this is just a way to make their day a little easier.

Members of the BBQ Brethren, family and friends (new and old) came together to prepare thanksgiving meals for families dealing with breast cancer and families of homeless veterans.

We were happy to again work with the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition and Services for the Underserved and we are extremely grateful for the continued generosity of Community Presbyterian Church of Deer Park for allowing us to use their beautiful (and spacious!) hall.

We had roughly 80 turkeys, 150 pies, 225 appetizers, 200 brownies, 50 dozen cookies, 100 packages of dinner rolls, 100 pounds of mashed potatoes, 75 quarts of stuffing, 50 quarts of peas and carrots, 50 quarts of corn, 54 servings of gravy, 40 quarts of yams, 40 quarts green beans, 30 quarts of Brussels sprouts, 45 quarts of Mac and cheese, and assorted cupcakes, cakes and breads.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Stew Leonard's, the NYC Jeep Club, Lilly's Family Foods, Stroehmann’s, Wally's Bagels, Swell Taco, Westrock Packaging, Apple Ice, Panico's Family Market, Slap Yo' Daddy BBQ,USA Foil, Fred Bernardo and Plant Wise.

Thanks guys for the support of those that have given so much of themselves so we the masses can enjoy our lives as Americans. Also, your efforts remind us all that hopefully one day, we will be able to look at cancer in the rear view mirror as well.....

Excellent effort !! Holidays are much sweeter when shared with strangers.
Oh was that Poobah Claus??

Truly an example of what Thanksgiving is all about. No doubt the efforts were truly appreciated.
