Reviews were really good though sparse. I like briquettes in my barrel and bullet cookers. At times mixed with lump. Sam’s has their Members Mark briquettes 2@20# for $17? Wife was doing an online order so asked her to get 3 doubles. 120# should give me an idea if I like it. First cook was a pork picnic yesterday in the Oklahoma Joe Bronco. Laid three smallish hickory and a kiss of mesquite in the basket. Filled the basket level with MM Briquettes and Hit three places with heat gun to light coals (really enjoying my “poor man’s looflighter”. Barrel thermometer read 250 for ten hours and was at 220 when I closed the vents. Aroma, burn time, size of briquettes, all the claims made in the bag were correct. Though not 100% I consider myself a B&B guy, however I’m going to get me a another triple double of these MM’s and quit looking for brick unicorns.

I will try these out. Thanks for the review. I use Royal Oak in the PBC because wife doesn't like Kingsford. I have been having trouble finding Royal Oak and B&B locally for awhile.

Thanks for the heads up on the charcoal. So if it's like ROCS that's a good thing. I noticed it's bigger than KBB and it has some small pieces of wood charred and some not. I have not noticed any chemical tastes either. I took a pic of a ROCS brick but, it might be hard to see the wood. I have been using it in my MB560 and have been very happy with it. Works great doing pizzas and give a nice wood fired flavor. All that being said I will pick some up on my next trip for sure.

I had just picked up a twin pack last Friday. Haven’t used it yet, but if I like it, I think the price and local availability will win me over on this briquet.

How would you compare them to KBB?

I haven’t burned enough KBB to make a comparison. I enjoy Kingsford Wood infused and purchase it when it’s on sale. Occasionally I buy a bag or two of KBB for grilling as that’s what I grew up with. We didn’t smoke, we grilled-well done with Gulf Light propellant.

Another first of many the last 7-10 days. I bought a spritz bottle. Excellent reason to open a beer before noon

What is ROCS? Thanks for the review adams!

I found the MM to be nearly identical to the Royal Oak All Natural.
I really like the ROAN, but my Walmart ran out and it is unclear if they will get any more.

(ROCS) Royal Oak Chef's Select which I was getting from a Best Do It Center from the next town over. I now notice they do not have in store or online. I just measured and was getting about 2 3/16" or so per brick.

Thanks for the review, I'd tried the lump that Sam's sells and didn't care for it, so I kind of wrote off the briquettes.

Hear you. Tried the Sam’s lump once 5-6 years ago?. One burn and tossed remaining. I’ve been tempted to try again as I really enjoy trying different coals. But that one time keeps me from it.
