A friend requested the chipotle Pork recipe where a real Cane sugar Dr Pepper is used. Visited a bit and he asked if Id ever tried it with chicken thighs instead of pork butt. Told him call back today and I can answer yes. Been wanting to break out a Lodge DO I've not used in a while. Seasoned the thighs with Adams Steak Seasoning (ironic huh). Grilled fat side down till they didn't stick, flipped briefly. Cast iron oven rinsed in hot water then hand rubbed with bacon grease inside and out. Added chipotle adobo, a tad more bacon grease and a Mexican Cane Sugar Orange Soda. Layered the thighs and let them smoke an hour uncovered. Now covered probably done but getting juicy and tender-er. Had broth box ready to go, but was not needed.
