Ok so the GF got a Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited for my birthday recently, since the funds are not available for a Humphreys Pint right now. Anyway, simple gasket mods so far, but I decided to try reverse sear again (1st attempt was horrible) with the 2.5lb sirloin she bought today for me. Future mods will be added in near future when time is available.

Have to say, the best steak I've ever cooked. Seasoned with Montana Steak. Internal was 125 when pulled. Steak was cut in half prior to cook for us to share.

Thanks, I was very pleased with the outcome. The 1st attempt were with small ribeyes on the kettle, and I couldn't get it right. I will be doing this from now on.

Looks perfect to me. Nothing wrong with starting off with a smoker like that either. You will learn a lot more about BBQ'ing than if you started with something more "set and forget".

Cheers!

Bill

Reverse sear is the only way to go on a nice thick steak! Looks like you nailed it on your 2nd attempt! Makin me plan a steak cook myself now! :thumb:
