Pepperoni, tomatoes, and fresh basil makes for a great pizza combo, but with added garlic, and lots of it, plus a healthy dollop of homemade sauce, the flavor factor really gets kicked up.
Here’s the toppings, sans basil, including 8 cloves of garlic:
Chopped up the garlic:
On to the dough - started out with TJ’s pizza dough that had been proofed and rested on the counter in two stages for over 60 minutes so the dough could relax:
Added a LOT of homemade sauce, as I like my pizza saucy:
Topped with whole milk mozz:
Fresh Roma tomato slices:
Pepperoni:
And finally, added the garlic:
About 2 minutes in on the Blackstone:
Out of the oven and topped with fresh basil and sliced - you can see the garlic got nice and crispy/toasty from the hot oven:
It was delicious, saucy, and VERY garlicky!
