Another camp breakfast.

Made my usual favorite breakfast fatty but tried some Whataburger sausage this time.

Used my stainless fatty piston, the stuffing was tatoes, onions, ham, cheese, seasonings... I think that was all.

Wrapped in a bacon weave and placed in the cooler overnight...

Still had a burn ban going on so I couldn't use a fire to cook.

Made a foil drip pan, placed the coals around the sides to cook with indirect heat.

I liked the Whataburger sausage and was really happy with the crisp arepa. The Mango Habanero sauce was recommended by a friend here. Thank you!

Over all, nobody complained. :-D

Sorry for so many pics again, but thanks for looking!

Looks great, as always. Curious where you got/made your stainless fatty piston? All the DIY ones I’ve seen have been PVC.

That looks awesome, as always! I've tried making Arepas a couple times, failed miserably. :noidea: If it's available in your area, try some Desert Pepper Cantina Salsa. Only stuff I buy since I discovered it, they're out of El Paso.

Thanks! When a friend in Germany saw my pvc one on my blog, he made the stainless one for me. He made one for himself too. :-D
It's a bit smaller in diameter than my pvc one but it works ok.

Thanks Andy! :-D
I've been making a lot of arepas lately, filled with beef cheeks, rib meat, eggs, cheese, almost anything. lol
That salsa looks delicious!! I will definitely give it a try, Thanks so much!!

Yep, they are different. Look for Masarepa, P.A.N. is one of the more well known brands. Goya has one as well.

I just picked up a bag of the Goya to see if there is any difference. The PAN has been working well for me though. Both the yellow and white are tasty to me. :-D

How much oil do you use? Maybe that was my problem. They just didn't puff up as much as I think they should have from what I've read.
