I might be GUILTY But I will try to change my ways. So a BIG thank you to all who have helped / replied to any of my threads and for bringing this to not only my attenion but a lot of others also. Thank you DouG

Well said as I may be guilty also.....I'm busy with three active kids and a stressful job.....but that's no excuse to disrespect the good folks on this site. I will try HARD to be more respectful if I have not been. I mean....I love y'all AND this place!!

Yes, it bothers me. Particularly when i get PM's from strangers asking for specifics about a build or a cook. I respond in detail and never hear from them again. Go figure...

I don't really care one way or the other about what people do or don't post on a forum, but what you describe right there - folks taking up your time by specific request and then not showing any appreciation or even acknowledgement - incredibly lame! It takes less than 3 seconds to at least say "thanks".

I think the best way for you to deal with that type situation is to cook collard greens for another Brethren, like me for example. :hungry:

Yes it bothers me. Everything bothers me!:mad2:. Hey, that's just me. I don't even know what you were asking, I just liked the title of the post!:loco:

Maybe a bit but I've got lots more things to be bothered about. I'm the guy who is happy to slow down to let you into my lane but if you don't give me a wave or some kind of acknowledgement I'm going to give you a sarcastic wave. I'm also the guy who can't help by comment in the grocery store when someone cuts me off or leaves their basket in the middle of the aisle so nobody can get by while they're lollygagging 20 feet away.

Maybe some of the non thankers, may be like me.
When your in a totally different time zone ,posts disappear very fast.i mean very fast.
Also some of the changing of recipes could do with what is available locally
Post Beatles is fine but I would have to sub them with grasshoppers or spiders.( joking. ):becky:

Personally I think most folks just thank people in the thread and don't know or forget there is a thanks button... I know I have asked something and did a "thanks in advance" in the thread.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - This

Bob makes an excellent point. Even if the OP doesn't acknowledge your advice, I can guarantee you will still be helping someone else in the future. I can't tell you how many times I've found helpful answers to a search because the great brethren here took the time to share their advice. Please keep sharing that great advice!

p.s. Yes, I realize people not using the search function could be a whole other thread. :)

This is me too. I generally can find the answer to my question using the search feature on one or more site. If I PM someone with a question regarding their post, I ALWAYS thank them in a return PM.

You FARKERS messed up by responding in this thread !! Should have just let it slide off into the interweb :biggrin1:

I'm sort of with the OP.

If I start a thread I will do my da£€%st to respond or thank everyone that replied, but, if I reply to a thread that someone else started, I don't look for a thanks or reply.

Follow me?

I figure it will take everyone that is new a little while to find out how everything works.
I just saw that I can subscribe to threads. Didn't know that (and I overlooked the "thanks from" button.) Silly me....

I am not a big poster and still fairly new here. I read more than I post as I feel most people have more knowledge than me.
That doesn't mean that I (and with me, many others) don't appreciate the help.
I always try to thanks everyone for any help, but I may forget at times.
So...
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE :clap2:
And please keep helping us!

I am definitely guilty as charged. One problem for me is that I don't get emails notifying me that someone has commented on a thread. Is this even possible to sign up for? I know that once I started thread and months later found it somehow and people were wondering what happened to the OP. I completely forgot about hit cuz I got so busy.
