They're a protected species in Wisconsin (which is ridiculous as they're all over the place).
that seems odd, you don't even need a hunting license to hunt them here in maryland.
The big ones are "strong"...and they're all fatty this time of year, the fat is "strong", lol
The best ones are in the late spring when the young leave momma.
IF your gonna eat it, trim off the fat, braise it in beer, or wine, and maybe consider drinking the gravy, :grin:
