We were searching for a smoker on the internet and ran across Mr. Paul Shirley of Shirley Fabrication in Tuscaloosa, AL. We called him and were sold. We ordered a 64 in.X24 in. built on a trailer. It is a solid smoker made with 3/8 in. steel and has a 2 in. insulated firebox. We had 3 large probe ports and 4 tel tru thermometers installed (3 in the main and 1 in warmer box). These are the pics Mr. Shirley sent us during the build. He kept in touch throughout the build and made sure everything was exactly like we wanted it. Customer service and satisfaction are triple A with them. Delivery and 1st build pics to come. We also have a review of the smoker on youtube if you're interested. youtube/beefnip and of course, go visit Mr. Paul Shirley at www.shirleyfabrication.com and he is also on Facebook. Thanks

Congratulations man. I recently purchased a Shirley as well. A man would be hard pressed to do any better than a Shirley pit in my humble opinion. Again congratulations and enjoy that new Shirley pit.

Yes,Palmtreefrb! Thats exactly what they are. Oversized temp probe grommets with inserts. I have several probes and just bought a iGrill 2 with four probes to add to the mix,so I wanted to have plenty of room to fit them without struggling with cramming them in! If I want to run my Shirley without probes, all I need to do is wedge a bit of aluminum foil into the insert or wrap the it over!
