Tamales have been on my bucket list and Sud's recent post pushed me over the edge

Bone in pork butt deboned

Y'all have to try this. A must!!!! Thanks for looking!

Sako, another epic cook and tutorial. Would definitely tear up a half dozen of them!

I actually had no idea how much labor went into making them. Wow. I appreciate the tutorial!

Very labor intensive so usually a bunch of people get together to make tamales.

Thanks Charles!

It wasn't as bad as I expected it. The tamale spreader helped a ton.

They look great Sako.
We always make tamales for Christmas. Tomorrow will be our tamal day. They get easier, the more you make them. This was from the last time we made tamales. Dang upside down pictures.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Homesmoke!

You're absolutely right. It got real easy literally at the very end. My filling and masa were done at the point when I was already very comfortable.

I would love to taste that, looks really flash:thumb:

Very nice!

We took a tamale making class put on my a friend from BBQ competitions and really enjoyed learning the process. We still have some in the freezer from the class, but need to make some on our own before we forget :-D

Just WOW Sako!!! Those look fantastic! I love tamales, but I've never attempted to make them. I get them at our local Mex restaurant every time I go. Yours look awesome! Very nicely done!!!

Those look awesome! I've got all the fixins to make some tomorrow. My wife's from Texas, and in her family tamales are a Christmas Eve tradition. Hope mine turn out half as good as yours.
