I'll be bringing a Weber GA and doing Down Home Sausage and Budin both locally made. Buns etc. We will bring accessories too along with some type of dessert picked up close by. And cold beer to be discretely consumed. Looking forward to it.

Been researching the area for hotel lodging. Right now looking at several hotels off I-30 and 231 South. About 5 miles from the park. Any suggestions welcome from those familiar with the area. Only a 588 mile trip for us. Also may have an old USAF buddy and his Wife come but still too early to know. They would be driving down from Michigan.

It's a very clean, well run place, Mike.
The sites are small, unless you have a pull through.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Family run place.
They meet you when you pull in and take you to your site, help you get in, if needed.
Bathhouse is spotless, live music every night.

The negatives, right on 31W, so road noise.
And, a very active train track that borders the park.
But, as Elwood Blues said about the train, "So often you won't even notice!"

Honestly, it is a very good place.
For us, it's literally in the center of the 5 places where our families live in that area.
This last trip on our way home from Myrtle Beach, was the 4th time we stayed there.

So, I have both of our HS BBQ teams qualified for State Championship. That puts me on the Ain't Gonna Make It list for sure. Have a great time, wish we could make it.
