Has anyone here used both? I'm having an extremely difficult time choosing which of these two to get for SCA competition.

With the C4 is it a pain to get to the grill grates that are sunk in?

Is the construction on the C4 better?

Are the vents on the HB250pro a pain?

Does the deflector plate help a lot?

Curious on everyone's opinions on which is better and then pros and cons of each from people who've used them.

I have a C4, I don't do SCA but I like the C4 a lot.

As far as the grate, the include a tool that makes it very easy to lift them out of the grill.
It is very small, but it would be ideal for a steak comp. There is a cover that goes over the grill to make an oven. I use my press on the front and use the lid on the back, works like a charm, and the holes in the cover make probing the meat easy.

You can make a great SCA steak on any grill but I think both of these grills are too small and very limited. For less money you could do the PK original that lets you do more of a two zone cook. I really like the HB Ranger 380 for a little more with the adjustable tray is awesome and it doesn't take up mush more room vs the the HB 250.
