Kind of a nice place to be. No really favorite must have anything. Some meats I like more than others, some an accidental find, what’s that-I’ll light a fire and see. I do like ground meat. I launched my old Gander Mtn close out grinder to the dumpster, Brides kitchen aide grinder attachment housing cracked. Carnivore line looks cool on Chuds BBQ videos. For 1/5 the cost KA has a high rated grinder attachment that is metal around metal not plastic around metal. This weekend I plan to cook a rack of Duroc back ribs I paid 14$ for. The other day at store the same label of one rack Duroc back ribs was 34$. And the headlines read prices about to soar? Like they already haven’t? Now Im a meat person, I’m not going to forgo meat. I’ll just be somewhat more flexible than I already am. I’m old enough to remember certain things were only available “in season”
I’ll adjust to the season and light a fire, or run the extension cord and push a button

crap
Ca already raised egg prices and chicken is so high that pork was my go to.
I agree that pig farmers should just ignore Ca

BabyBack Ribs $5.58# at Sam’s. Not a single brisket in the bin. Guess sub $4# brought out the buyers. I bought a two pack of chickens.

Simple, do what they do with cars, lawnmowers - make a California Compliant pork product, just charge them alot more than it costs normal people.
Actually, smaller farms etc. might best be poised to take the market, and charge $12 a pound or more. Just leave us normal people alone.

Problem is, There moving to Florida..
I just dug 10 foot deeper hole to hide in.

Seen the bumper stickers yet that say " Don't California My Florida" and "Don't New York My Florida" ?
I wanna walk through Publix parking lot and stick one on every vehicle.

Yup. Been reading/hearing about this all week.

I’ll keep my descriptive adjectives to myself, we’ll just leave it that I think these people are out of touch. I think one of their objectives is to make the price of meat so high that everybody will slowly become Vegetarians.

I’m hoping it’ll pi$$ off enough voters that things may change.

Whoops, woke back up. I was just dreaming for a minute there.

Interesting to know. Pork is my favorite meat. Now I guess the pork will be special occasion because the duck will be more affordable?

For 1/5 the cost KA has a high rated grinder attachment that is metal around metal not plastic around metal.

I have the all metal KA meat grinder attachment that I no longer use. I upgraded to the Carnivore and it's great. The KA is ok but I needed something larger to make large batches of sausage.

Anyway, if you would like it I would be willing to send it to you so that it gets a good home!

As an animal rights guy, that also BBQ's, I support better conditions for animals, even at expense of higher prices of meat.

On a personal level, I've contemplated to stop eating pork. They're an incredibly intelligent animal at same level as dogs and we wouldn't accept dogs being treated same as pigs.

But on other hand, bacon is delicious.

Anyone suggesting pork producers ignore California, the biggest economy in the country by far, isn't basing their response in reality.

Ditto.

If California was its own country, it would be the 5th largest economy in the world.

This is typical fear porn.

Just departed local United Grocery store. Bought squash and Jiffy box for a squash casserole. Glanced in brisket bin first tag I saw was $101. Next $84. Small 4# netted Duroc shoulder $36. Two packs of beef shiner ribs $38.

Realistically if my three freezers (they're small)don't fail I can eat meat every day until late next summer. However it's interesting to see full bins of meat at those prices.
