It's unlikely I can make a Brethren lunch unless it's on a weekend, but I can certainly do a hand-off of the stuff to somebody that *can* make it.
With the spread of folks, I would bet it would be a weekend requirement for most as a lunch hour would go by quickly in driving time alone for everyone if we tried to do a weekday lunch. It's unlikely I can make a Brethren lunch unless it's on a weekend, but I can certainly do a hand-off of the stuff to somebody that *can* make it.
Don't gotta wait a whole year...look for one in April/May again :wink:Glad to hear that fun and some great looking food was had by all. Sorry we couldn't make it. The wife is just getting her stamina back after the surgery. Up to two to three hours max before a nap. Wouldn't have been ideal for a road trip.
I'll be looking forward to next year...
We thought about that one but it is really kinda bare around there...or at least it was in April and the kid fishing pond was empty and overgrown.Ray Rob also has a pav @ Bluestem. No lake view but a bit more wind sheltered; kid fish pond & horse trail access.
Looks like Lake Whitney has an awesome facility we could use. It's $50 more than the pavilions at Ray Roberts, but it's got an indoor kitchen. No more shaking rub in the wind!
This spot has my vote for the spring.
Looking back I noticed that I never thanked our vendors (All Things BBQ and Ted & Barney's) for their generous gifts. Came home with 5 bottles of rubs! Can't thank these folks enough.
I just read the entire thread and it seems AWESOME!
The pics are fantastic. (and a good time was had by all.)
How could we promote a D.C. area bash, there are alot of Brethren in MD and N.VA.
It doesn't seem the bash threads get much action, except for you guys and Cali?
