A lot of the above answers include soy sauce.

For all of you that use that (I do too, Filipino household so we buy that and vinegar by the gallon jugs) try your favorite marinade but switch out the soy with Calamansi soy. Changes the flavor to a bit more acidic in a good way (but a lot of the above uses other citrus for acidic, so might be two much for those).

Good stuff, always have a bottle in the cupboard.

An ole friend of mine often used 1/2 soy and 1/2 woo sauce for a steak marinade.
Then, while the steaks cooked he would cook some 'shrooms in the marinade. Bring it to a quick boil and then back down to simmer a bit.
