If available, we buy in gallons and 1/2 gallons. I'm sure someone can break down the science of how sauce breaks down and deteriorates through time being exposed to the air, yada, yada, yada... When we won our first grand last October, I had been using those gallons of sauce since March, so you can bet your tail I'll continue to buy gallons .
Why not buy gallons and then transfer to quart mason jars? Mason jars will keep it fresh and you can use a quart at a time while saving money by buying in bulk. Just as thought.
