Hello,
This is my first post here. I have had a Green Egg XL for a couple of years. I've ruined meat, made amazing meat, and everything in between (lately mostly amazing  )
Since I learned to slow cook on the egg, I've always been intrigued by the offsets and the better smoke flavor they offer over the egg.
So, I just bought a 20" Horizon, the classic one, without the counter weights.
A few questions, if its ok.
1) I've read here that people have, in the past, bought covers from Horizon. I do not see any covers for sale there. Where could I get a cover for this smoker?
2) The Green Egg can get really, really hot (1000 degrees, thermometer pegged). It is so easy to clean, basically, just let it go to flaming hell and everything just powders off and its like new. How is an offset supposed to be cleaned? Short of power washing once in a while, do you just let the inside be greasy? Do you use a catch tray to catch drippings?
3) I hear it weighs some 400 lbs. It does have wheels. Not sure how the unit will be when its ready for pick up at the shop where I ordered (Bass Pro Shop). Assuming they can load it in my 4x7 utility trailer, do you guys think it will be possible for me and my wife to get it out ourselves? We have to roll it out of the trailer, and place it about 30 ft away. The trailer is about 1 ft high, and there is a ramp. Just not sure if the wheels help, or if they might be a hazard coming down the ramp...
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
