Nice looking build, here is my not so fancy crawler, 86 xj setting on 33s with only 3 inches of lift, working on 96 xj custom build, I still find it amazing to find people with common interest all over the world

thats my $500 crawler, she aint pretty but she sure is fun

I spotted for Hal Frost one year for WeRock, he started out in an XJ on 40's! lol

Forgot a couple of things on my list this morning...I needed to finish welding the outer skins and sand the entire thing. Install the difusser plate, build 4 food racks.

All of that is done and getting ready to install the doors after dinner.

I have build Charcoal Basket, Basket Sliders, 2" ball valve, 1" ball valve, 4 racks, rack safety catches, basket safety catches..im sure I am forgetting something else.

This was also the first time I got to use the welder with .25" stuff...man does it purr! The diffuser plate was nice and heavy, so the use of the shop floor jack came in handy

So its been a while since I posted an update, I had to go back to work :)

Ive had a couple cooks on it and figured out I needed to change a couple things and finish some others. A good friend of mine came down from PA today to help out...he is an awesome paint and body guy. We started getting ready for paint and finishing a few projects off.

The smoker is SUPER efficient, like Green Egg efficient! The door vent wasnt needed and provided a small draft, so I removed it. I was able to burn a very small load of coal and wood in it on Thursday last week for 15+ hours :)

I finished off the mounts for the striker on the door handles, and built my exhaust dampers. Fixed all of the welding pock marks, and sanded and orbital sanded all of the outer edge seams.

Getting ready for some paint, hopefully over the next week or so she will be painted up. We have a cool paint scheme for it and I am excited to see how it turns out!
