A Weber kettle chicken technque?

The vortex works great for crispy skin. However, in my experiences if you are bbq'ing the chicken once you sauce it you are going to have to have direct heat to crisp the skin back up. The vortex will give you bite through with bbq chicken, but without saucing the chicken the vortex gives you great skin.

Cook through, light sauce, set for a few minutes........still great skin.

Made some jerk chicken thighs yesterday. Really happy with how it turned out. I just set up kettle for indirect with a whole chimney of briqs. Seared for a few min on each side with lid closed and bottom vent halfway. Then moved to indirect and smoked for 40 or so at around 325. Came out exactly how I wanted.
