I looked on Amazon and found a magnetic shelf for it, and they showed a matching paper towel holder and boxed glove dispenser too. I went with that. I have touch up paint if needed as I am sure I am going to scratch it myself...

That is the same one I got from harbor freight. It will do a number on the paint. As the paint gets hot, those magnets and rubber back of it leave imprints in the paint. Not a big deal if you plan on putting it back in the same place, but I didn't like it messing up the paint. I don't know if you have the pit pal app, but it is really nice. Made it way easier to check the guru. I really liked how it documents everything. It is worth the 2 or 3 bucks for it.

I have used those red shelves for a long time. Never had any issues. Insulated cabinets shouldn't get hot enough to melt rubber. Are they hot to the touch?

Thanks for the info, but Meh. I got soft scrubbers and touch up paint if needed. Most likely leave them in the same place all the time once I figure out where I want them. It will be covered when not in use, so they'll be out of the weather too.

Paul, when I used mine, I put my hand on several different places, checking the temp. It was hot to the touch, but not hot enough that you jerked your hand away or was worried I would hurt myself. I left my hand there for about a minute with no damage, but it was hot. Does that make sense? I have one of those IR temp things. I'll try to remember to take a ready Sunday...

The average man can hold his hand on something 120-125 degrees for a minute or more. Any hotter and you can't hold it for more than a few seconds. When I was welding full time many moons ago I could hold 140 degrees for about 20-30 seconds. My guess is that the outside of the LSG would be around 125-130

Look what showed up on Thursday! I thought I would chronicle getting this thing out of the packaging as it is truly (like others have said) packaged to survive a tornado! If Lonestar is still reading this I might suggest not using the nails with the ridges in them that make them harder to pull out.

It took me about an hour by myself to get this out of the shipping crate. I thought I had a hernia trying to stop it from rolling down my driveway but all is good (nothing a few beers couldn't solve!). To get it off the shipping crate I used one side of the shipping container to build a ramp (reinforced with 2x4's I took off other sides). This allowed me to roll it right down. I then used this same ramp to get it up a 6" step going to my back yard. I was very pleased the way it worked out as I unpacked it, rolled it to my backyard, and then got it up the 6" step all by myself.

I used a hammer and crow bar to get almost all the packing off. I used a saw to get the pieces of wood by the wheels off as they wouldn't move just hitting them with the hammer.

I am SUPER impressed with the build of these smokers. For those of you that have them you know what I mean. For those that don't...you will! The workmanship is AMAZING. I am SOOO happy i purchased this.

For the seasoning I used about 18lbs of charcoal. I seasoned it for about 8 hours. When I opened the box up it has just barely started to make the turn around the first T bar. What surprised me is I had a ton of completely unburnt charcoal throughout the first row. After cooling, I used all of it for my next smoke.

The last couple of pictures are of some ribs and onion bombs (meatball wrapped in onion and then bacon. First time I have made this and holly sh*t!).

FYI...I ordered a cover from Covers by Mel. I hope to get it in the next week or so and will post thoughts. Cost me $100 total with shipping.

Happy smoking!

I just ordered a cover for my Mini from Covers By Mel. Really nice lady that has a big following. She now has a pattern for the Lone Star Mini insulated cabinet.

I really like my cover she made. The only thing I didn't factor is the size of the exhaust damper. I have to take by damper off when I put the cover on. Not a big deal, just kind of annoying. I put the wing nut back on upside down to keep the screw from going through the cover. Nice cover, especially for the price

Got my cyber q today. Looking forward to testing it out. I'm wondering if I can not bother hooking it up to my home wifi and just run it off of my phone. I'm gong to give them a call tomorrow
