I chained up the fridge today so no shenanigans can happen.................should happen while I'm away.

Going to have the talk with it tonight about being a better brisket.

Nothing too crazy when I got home. Put the brisket in my SF for it's "talking to" and to make it understand what could happen. It seemed to get the picture and apologized for the bad behavior.

When I told it that it was the largest brisket I have ever seen to date it actually got excited about getting cooked. Like it understood its own importance in the cycle of bbq. I hope that is a good sign, but I'm not letting my guard down just yet..................:becky:

I also like how normally when there is only 1 thing in my SF it looks lonely, but how this thing actually takes up a lot of space for just one hunk of meat :-D

Briskets playing poker, please?

No poker yet, but I did try and start it on some games and fun stuff tonight so we tried some coloring

And also did a little hide and seek. The freaking dryer is always the last place I look. Took me 3hrs to find it. Temperature fluctuation is good for wet aging right?? :clap2:

So went back to RD to pick it up some company as I feel that is good for moral. This corned beef and regular brisket are for a gathering in a few weekends. The corned beef is around 13lbs and the brisket is 19lbs. So a pretty good size.

Here they all are together. About the same length

Just a lot thicker

Put them all in one of my garage fridges. Though if they misbehave I can separate them if it turns into some weird dumpster fire episode of "The Real World". :-D

The brisket wanted to get some fresh air today so I took it outside to show it some of my other cookers.

Here it is on my egg

And here it is hilariously on my 18" kettle. This kind of gave it a weight complex and I felt bad

So tried to let it exercise on this ball thing, but it kind of just sat there

I'm thinking the cooking weekend will be 3 weeks from now, mid Nov'ish. Trying to figure out what else I'll cook that day along with it..............

Ha! Yeah we are growing close. :loco:

I don't really name a ton of stuff and whatnot. And in this case it will simply make it easier when that tough day comes and the brisket has to get cooked. I don't want to grow to attached...........sniffle...........sniffle..........

Paw fnbish......are ya gonna take big ol' red out back behind the barn an shoot em'?????

say it isn't so paw....say it isn't so....:cry::cry:

I've been watching this thread and I think your brisket has an attitude problem. When a brisket gets an attitude problem there's only one way to correct it. Cook it! Sounds like its time to fire up the Shirley and take care of that big boy with an attitude! :thumb:

Oh and as big as that thing is you will probably need some help dealing with it. It's probably gonna put up a fight when it figures out what's about to happen. You should have several of us Brethren on hand to help! :becky:
