i have a YS480 that is my go to cooker during the warmer months. i have put it away for the season and now the UDS has become the primary for winter.

the yoder works perfectly but given i bought it used, it is a little rough with some scratches. was having breakfast with some buddies and one asked the table if anyone needed any powder coating done as he has some car parts he is getting blasted/coated and has access to a large oven.

so that got me thinking!

my yoder is on a comp cart and in looking at the parts diagram, dismantling wouldn't be all that tough. i could put good stainless in place of the original galvanized screws, and get it looking good!

so, here's my question to the brethren:

powder coat or paint?

i really like the idea of powder coating as it bonds to the metal. downside is, if i get a scratch, repair is a challenge.

thoughts?

am thinking of stepping away from the traditional black as well!
