So next month me and some buddies are going to be in KC for a couple days. I want to hit up a bunch of bbq spots and breweries. Looking for suggestions. I've seen all the lists of the iconic spots etc, but it can't hurt to ask you aficionados for advice! thanks!

You can always stay at some of the river boats, but I'd prolly check out the Hollywood casino/Legends area of KC,KS. It has Cabelas right there, that is pretty cool to check out.

When you go to Joes KC, make sure it's the one on Stringline rd, the KC BBQ store is very close by.

While your checking out the breweries, stop by the Holladay distillery in Weston it's worth the trip.

Q39, Joe's KC, Smokin' Guns, LC's are all good. I'd suggest staying somewhere downtown as all these places are a fairly close Uber away. Plus most of what's hot in KC right now is within reach from downtown. If you want a non-BBQ night we just opened a pretty damn nice, if I do say so myself, steakhouse called Stock Hill. As far as breweries we recently had a really nice time at the taproom at Torn Label. It's small but it had a really nice neighborhood vibe. I could go on and on. I love my home town and there's some really awesome stuff happening here right now.

Is Stock Hill your place? I just checked out the menu. Looks great. The lamb meatballs would be my appetizer. I'd have to have more time to decide for my entree. I'll have to check it out next time I'm there. Looks like a really nice place.

I'm all smokin guns, I may be bias though they have family up my way and had the privilege a couple years so have some of them burnt ends fresh out of his smoker during deer camp!!

Most of the one's listed are good. If this is your first time I'd hit the original Joe's K.C. (formally Oklahoma Joes, I think they had a name dispute or something and just changed it) in Kansas City, Kansas (it's in a gas station, google it).

If it's a weekend you need to get there before 11am if you don't want to wait in line. It's not a bad wait, but you kill a half hour in line possibly. Be ready with your order when you get to the front of the line and definitely order a Z-man sandwich. It is a brisket sandwich with a fried onion ring. What's not to love about that? Farking good.

I'd stay away from the big boys personally. Especially Gates. Like their sauce, but never had good que there.

KC's got some good breweries now too. Boulevard Brewing has a pretty awesome tap house where you can try experimental beers and other seasonals that you can't buy in the store.
