The 2023 Texas BBQ Brethren Spring Bash Planning Post

Hmmm, I know I posted here after the above post yesterday. Disappeared.

I was planning to bring a pinto bean/meat side, unless the Bash Beans make it so I should reconsider….???
I’ll also grab some napkins and plates.

Check out my reply on the “Invite “ thread in QTalk
But you can bring anything you would like to. It’s the Bash!
It’s all good!

Only 6 days till the Bash!

Today would be a good day to dig up those camp chairs, clean out your cooler and locate that camp table!
And possibly do a bit of shopping for beverages, sides and stuff!!

Better bring a Coat to the Bash.

Maybe going to be some wind too.

This has been a Bash Service announcement. :biggrin1:

Stop for lunch at the Lambert Cafe in Ozark MO. Home of the Throwed Rolls. They also have a couple other locations.

https://throwedrolls.com/

They've been on my list for years, Andy.
I remember my grandparents talking about the original place in Sikeston, MO.

Not gonna make it on this trip, unfortunately.
Heading home through Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky, so we'll have to try next time we head this way.

I'll tell you what, it's WINDY in Oklahoma!

Folks next to us said 50 to 70 mph gusts overnight.
We were a rocking and a rolling!
I left the truck hooked up for an extra anchor.
They're calling for 20 to 30 this morning, dropping off this afternoon. Might get some rain, but since the truck has turned green from the pollen, that might not be all bad.
299 miles to go.

Great!
Google Babe’s Chicken Dinner House in Sanger Tx.
It’s not that far from the lake. Great place for dinner.

We saw a billboard for Babe's on our way in, Hotch.
We'd have to get takeout. Our pup has unbelievable separation anxiety.
You'll get to meet her Saturday.
There's a place in Havana, IL called Babe's. It's great as well.

Scoped out the pavilion, beautiful spot!
Hell, the whole park is beautiful!
75 south, on the other hand... damn.
I thought illinois had bad roads! Pretty sure we got airborne a time or two!

Yeah 75 can be exciting in a few places!
We will setup in the corner of the parking area just below the pavilion.
Rest up and let me know if you need anything.
I’ll be there about 7:00 or 7:30 Saturday morning.

Thanks Hotch, I appreciate it!
We're heading out today to pickup some chicken wings and anything else that looks good for tomorrow.

I'll head over there as early as I can to give you a hand.
Probably not quite 7, but hopefully by 8!
It's a beautiful spot!
