Its been over a decade since I grilled ribs instead of smoking them so I decided I was overdue and fired up the big grill using hickory. The results were so good I ate a whole rack and made myself miserable! Baked some sweet potatoes in the embers as well.

Those look great - cooking ribs over direct heat in my hill country style smoker has become my preferred method

How did you do those potatoes in the embers? Wrap them and throw them in the coals for approximately ???

Thank you

I wrapped the sweet taters in several layers of foil and initially put them right beside the coal bed and then turned the occasionally. They weren't getting soft so at some point I pulled them over and raked the coals over them. They baked pretty quickly after that.

The ribs and taters were on/in the grill for about two hours, but I didn't note when I got more aggressive on the taters.
