Is it a good idea to put aluminum trays down with water, apple juice etc to steam and also catch falling stuff?? I was going to try it anyway but wanted to ask

Not really needed.... but yes you can do it....... just remember you want to get radiate heat off he baffle plate.......

I’ll tell you something else... with the Shirley warmer/ firebox on the back it is sooooo much more balanced... I can pick it up by the tongue now and move it around ... it really evens out the weight of that chargrill

I love that I can tilt mine back and hold it easily. Makes for moving around much easier.

That's a big "Shlang"...........almost fell off the couch laughing at that one. Awesome cooker man!!!...........I would say you have a "strong dog in the fight". Cant wait to see some action pic's.

I think that is ridiculous if you took your Chevy to a Ford place
would it become a Fochevy just because they did a good job ?
I think not. That Lang is many years old and built from a tank
They are now rolled steel much better density. Why because the
technology to produce steel is much better today than 20 years ago.
I have never cooked on a Shirley but if it don't cook like a Lang you
won't win as much and you will have to do something with the leftovers.
