Perfect timing, I just picked up a heart and tongue from my beef guy today. I get all the offal from his slaughter steers that nobody wants. This will get made this weekend.
 
I haven't had tongue since the last time I had it at my mothers house many years ago.
We used to have it on sandwiches and it was always great. I may have to make it and bring some to my parents. Thanks for the post.
 
When I was a little guy we would go to my Norwegian grandparents house on holidays. They would cook a baked cow tongue then cut about a half of an inch slice and serve. I do not have their recipe though, wish I did.
