yet another new smoker delivery thread

Sweet sweet sweet... sweet dreams about firing that baby up tomorrow.

Thank You all for your enthusiasm!

Nice that's a beast! Congrats and don't forget the fatty![

A beast indeed, It comes in at 900+ pounds. The way the delivery guy first tried to put it on the lift, I was pretty sure it was gonna fall and crush him. We had to reposition it to get it down safely. It then took the better part of 45 minutes for my wife and I to muscle it ~25 yards to it's location (It helps that my wife is a competitive weight lifter) I needed to use a hydraulic jack to get it off the pallets. Oh... and I will be picking up a fatty at the store tomorrow.

I'm in Montvale tonight. I don't smell any wood burning!!!

Yeah, I had to head to Hackensack to pick up my son at Lacrosse Practice as soon as we got it in place. I'm just happy to have it here now. It took a rather wild ride from Texas. The kind where you're following the progress on the logistics company website and then when you expect it the next day.... the data screen goes blank...and then when you call and give the cust serv rep your tracking number they go "Ohhhhh.... hold on a sec...... there are issues, it's back in Texas I think.. we'll be in touch". Rest assured, Montvale will be smelling some smoke tomorrow and definitely next week.

I'll be sure to post pics once I get some stuff cooking.

Thank You all again

PLEASE send pics of your first cook, etc.

I want to see everything....nothing like watching a new cooker come to life.

And knowing the excitement you have when you are doing it.

We have all been there.

This is an interesting design with the tube delivering smoke & heat from the firebox to the cooking chamber. Johnson's website touts the advantages of this design but doesn't describe in detail how this works.

Can't wait to hear about your experiences and how well this controls heat across the cooking area. Maybe share a few pics when you have time. Very interesting design features and a reasonable price too!

Very Nice Congrats and enjoy
Spray pam or something on the inside to season it Then cook some fatties Some will place biscuits in different locations to see where the hot spots are

Congrats on the new pit. Get her dirty!

And don't get me started on shipping... :tsk:
