So, Tasha and Tyler went down to Galveston for the week.....sorry, caseydog...the Bolivar Peninsula :becky:, leaving me to fend for myself for a week. I figured it would be a good opportunity for me to grill in the evenings, so here we go!
Day 1:
Picked up a pack of pork chops, maybe 1.25" thick. Rubbed with Cattleman's: Cowboy Coffee Rub after coating in EVOO.
Decided a nice big bottle of Chimay Premiere would be a nice beer choice for a night on my own, if you are already wondering what is in the glass...
Decided to try grilled romaine...always best to experiment on yourself, right?
Sliced it in half and misted it with EVOO and sprinkled it with Ted & Barney's.
Got Major all fired up using Earl as a table, with a mini chimney full of Stumps.
Jester was just chillin' with me on the patio makin' sure no one approached Major...
The Flip!
Seared both sides and moved to the indirect side and put Major's hat on.
Planning to do some KFC later this week, so wanted to see how hot I could get the Joe at grate level in this config.
I think that is PLENTY hot, eh fwismoker? :becky:
Pulled the chop off the grill at 150F IT...overshot my target by 10 degrees...oh well.
Tossed on the romaine for a couple minutes per side.
Here is the romaine all finished.
Plated.
It did NOT suck!!!
Stay tuned all week for a new addition to the "when the cat's away, peeps will play" grillin' series!
