If someone already posted this, apologies. I saw it on the Humphrey's forum a couple days ago and confirmed yesterday. Bought just enough to last me through the week :clap2:

Crack a bag open. I want pics. A review would be nice please. I had seen it but never had seen it before.

Will try to remember to do that tomorrow after work. From the guy on the Humphrey group page who tried it:

"I thought it worked good for grilling."

So there's some detail for you :)

I used some this weekend for the first time. Top seemed like pretty good pieces, but there was some smaller pieces mixed in. Didn't seem like too much dust, but there was some. Popped and crackled pretty good for a minute or two, when first starting, but after it got lit, it settled down. There was a not so pleasant smell for a while, but not too bad. Once the charcoal was ready, no smell, and no bad taste on the food. Had it in a vortex on the weber kettle, and you didn't want to reach over the vortex, it was burning hot. I am sure some bags will be better than others, but for $10 for 30lb, I will be stopping at wal-mart tomorrow, and getting more.

I picked up a couple more bags of this today, just can't pass up that price. Cooked some thighs with the vortex, and it pegged my weber thermo at over 600 degrees, so it burns very hot. The only problem I have found, is the smell it has when lighting. Has anyone else noticed a pretty bad smell from this? Once it gets lit good, it goes away, but it is weird. Also it says it is hardwood charcoal, but no where on the bag, does it say what kind of wood. No problem with the food, so I guess I should stop asking questions.

If you search for it on their website, it will tell if there are any stores in your area carrying it.

I just bought some, it is very dense. The bag is probably 1.5 times the size of the Royal Oak, but weighs twice the amount. I assume the charcoal is smaller chunks.

I just grabbed 8 bags myself. They had the pallet way up on the rack and I had to find a guy to get it down. He took my 8 bags off the pallet, and put it back up.

Just grabbed a bag today. I'll be heeding Josh's advice and only grilling with it. Will do some quick burgers and dogs tomorrow for the roofers, and will report back.

I smoked a couple racks of ribs with it the other day. Started the lump in the chimney, after it got hot I didn't notice any odd odor. Used some small oak splits to keep the fire going. After I wrapped I used some lump to keep the fire going to save my splits. Didn't notice the odd smell this time. Maybe cause the coal base was hot? Ribs came out fine, no odd flavors or anything.

I'm out of town but it does say there are bags at my local walmart(s). I still picked up one here in Florida just in case. That price is insane these days around me.

Did ya'lls come with a free butt paste?

Looks like there's 23 bags at my closest Wal-Mart! May have to pick up some and see how I like it...

I picked two bags up at Century 3 Walmart. I got one bag for $7 because the bag was ripped. Here’s a few photos. Big chunks mixed with smaller and that seemed consistent throughout the bag. Now to lite a small chimney to see about that smell.

I put them on a plastic bag.
