I had the family over Monday for spare ribs and I decided to try something a little different; applebutter. I started with a nice coating of Simply Marvelous Sweet & Spicy, Pecan, and Cherry. Cooked the ribs for 3 hours then I slathered them with some applebutter, foiled, and continued cooking for 2 hours. Unwrapped and continued cooking for about 1 more hour. They came out really good; not overly sweet and the SM Sweet & Spicy gave them a nice bite. I'll definitely do it again. Sorry, no pron but they didn't last long enough to get pictures. :thumb:

Sounds good, Rose! I might just try that on one of my next racks. Did you find that it burnt at all?

Thanks Tish - I wouldn't say 'burned' but the thinner ends were a bit crunchy. That's my favorite part. If you don't like to foil, I'd apply the applebutter at the end like you would BBQ sauce and keep the ribs on long enough for it to set up.
