I fired up the Treager for the first time in about three months for some ribs. It would not hold any temperature. Finally just went out. The fire box is clean and the feeder works as it should. I really like this old Treager and want to keep it. Where should I start for a fix?

New pellets.
Clean out auger tunnel
Glow stick working properly
Assure you have airflow with intake and exhaust wide open or unobstructed
Restart with a palm full of pellets in fire pot and auger assured no air gaps
Incremental increases and or follow instructions in manual
Internal temp probe cleaned
If using probes try without

Also one of the things 16Adams already listed, if fresh pellets doesn’t resolve it, check the intake and exhaust to make sure critters of some sort haven’t nested. Adam’s’ list is good, those would be my first two, then keep working through that list.

If it seems like everything is working BUT the igniter - you should be able to light the pellets in the firepot and grill as normal. Using a propane/mapp torch is the easiest way to do this. It will keep you grilling through the weekend at least while you wait for the replacement to arrive; and if it's a something is wet issue - it should dry everything out.

All good thoughts. The pellets are Treager and the bag has been open since last year. Maybe the problem?
