Smoked - Dallas gets a BBQ Festival!

A deliciously curated Music & BBQ Festival taking place 10/4/14 at Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas.

Smoked Dallas features a roster of artists, pitmasters and chefs to serve heapin’ helpings of ear candy and good grub. Fans may purchase VIP tickets in order to get a one-hour jump on the BBQ tasting, which starts at 1pm. General admission tickets enable fans to attend the tasting and concert from 2-5pm. After 5pm, tickets are for the concert only, with BBQ available to purchase separately.

Several different ticket packages will be offered including VIP which offers and extra hour of partying beginning at 1pm. The BBQ Tastings ticket for $45 which allows fans to sample BBQ from all BBQ joints from 2-5pm, plus admission to the concert. Concert tickets are only $22 which allows concert-goers admission to the festival at 5pm. Not to worry concertgoers, BBQ vendors will be selling their smoked goodness during the show.

Smoked’s edible offerings will be prepared by 15 traditional pitmasters and celebrated chefs doing their take on barbeque. Among the participating BBQ joints are:

Billy's Oak Acres (Fort Worth)
Cousin's Bar-B-Q (Fort Worth)
Hutchins BBQ (McKinney)
Lockhart Smokehouse (Dallas)
Schmidt Family Barbecue (Bee Cave)
Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q (Tyler)

Plus gourmet tastings from Kent Rathbun, The Blind Butcher, Frank Underground and Cafe Momentum

Billy's Oak Acres is one I want to try. I work near Ft. Worth but never heard of that one.

They get some pretty high praise from some of our mutual FW/Mid Cities friends (Asa for one). Never been personally though.
