Pit boss Top Vent

I picked up a pit boss at Costco a few months ago.....1st of all, i LOVE it! still on the learning curve...but all is well!! One thing I have noticed is that the upper vent will tent to stick after a long smoke. There is an accumulation of grease that causes this. I have taken off the vent, cleaned it off really good, and it happened again during a long pork butt smoke. I have tryed loostening the screw that holds it on.....but then you just end up letting a lot of smoke/air escape. Any ideas? I have made it a habit of cleaning it when i clean everything else after a smoke.....but I thought I may be missing something stupid...thanks in advance gents!
