Sooooooooooooooooooo.....
The bbq devil on both my shoulders wouldn't shut up
I needed some more flour so I figured on my way to Sam's I'd stop at Academy and "just look"......aka definitely buy the Ooni Koda 16 .
Got it home around 11am and have it fired up and seasoning. I took a frozen dough I had and thawed that this morning so I could use the 3rd dough ball of the poolish recipe I made 2 days ago for dinner.
You literally just put in the stone, hook it to gas and turn it on. I'm glad we still had a larger outdoor table we kept during our move (but hadn't taken out of the shed). This thing will be a perfect outdoor table for now to put the oven on and have plenty of side room for whatever.
Right now I have it at the edge of the garage since it's on and off rain. Honestly the rain today (especially supposed to tonight) put me over the edge for getting it today since I probably wouldn't fire up the egg in the pouring rain :-D. And not that I mind firing up the egg, but similar to a pellet cooker.....it's just nice to turn a dial and get a cooker going.
Anyways here's some pics. I'll get a test pizza on here for lunch shortly. I do need to get another pizza peel because the 18in one I have doesn't get all the way in the oven. Might do what I saw one guy do which was put the pizza in on a screen for like 30 seconds to start the cook then get it off the peel to finish.
Can't screw this up..................:blah:
