Old Country Pecos vs Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn

Too Small - just ask Big Swole.......even after I told him it was too small.......
And it's $100 more, 200 cubic inches extra is on tiny top grate. Add a real top grate to Pecos and it's WAY bigger than Wrangler......

Wrangler was fun to start with but just to short / narrow.... I'm selling it in about 3 hours and I've already replaced it with a Brazos (Basically a Pecos but a full 1/4" steel all around.).

I like the Pecos, but it's a bit small. What is your budget, can you bump it up to get something better?

you think a 10 guage smoker that size weighs 202 lbs ? and runs $479....?

looks pretty thin to me.......watch the video........

It may cook Fine, Longhorn cooks Fine, Pecos cooks Fine. Firebox doesn't look big enough for full size splits...?
.

No, I am completely agreeing with you. If that is the actual weight of the cooker, it can't be 10 gauge. He should get a pecos, it's the size he wants and is cheaper. The only reason I recommended the wrangler was because metal gauge seemed important in the OP. I also didn't realize it was that much smaller than the pecos. That is pretty drastic. The pecos only flaw is it's thinner metal. But whatever, you can't ask for more when youre paying <$400. Just throw a welding blanket with some magnets over it on windy/cold days, problem solved.

I really appreciate this discussion because I have a friend looking in this price range too.

The cheapest I've seen a New 1/8" or 3/16" smoker the size of Longhorn or Pecos is $750 by local guys. Usually about $850 and Up. At 1/4" The Brazos is Cheapest at $999 that I've seen. That's why some Guys will watch Craigslist like a Hawk but some parts of the Country just don't have Offsets or never see them for Sale Used.
