Nice pit. Like Bludawg mentioned if you clean it out and don't let the ash screw it up the 11 gauge will last forever. Can't wait to see some cooking!
 
Looks like it. The NBs have bolted fire boxes and square exhausts. I've been looking for one of these for 2 yrs.
 
Started sanding this morning. The firebox has rust under the paint. Gonna sand it all off, hit it with a rust converter and spray with VHT header paint. The rust on the interior is pretty much all surface. The firebox deflector plate is deeper than I thought it would be. Gonna take a while to get to bare metal there. Once the exterior is sprayed with VHT it's gotta cure 7 days and then I can season. Will post up pics later today.
 
Sanded and wire wheeled for about 4 hrs yesterday. Got 4 coats of VHT headed paint on the firebox and 2 coats on the cook chamber. I got the inside pretty clean. The grates are currently sitting in a tub of vinegar and salt. Will take steel wool to them in a few days.
