A couple of weeks ago there was a thread asking for marinade recipes for grilled shrimp. Now I normally just season, grill and baste with lemon butter. But a couple recipes caught my eye. One from sudsandswine and one from piney. Thread linked below

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280643&highlight=Shrimp+marinade

Those two recipes really caught my eye, especially sud’s. I am on double secret lockdown from the wife against cooking any more land based protein this weekend so decided to grill up some seafood.

Grilled shrimp tacos it is. Bought some beautiful jumbo wild caught gulf shrimp. Half of them in the suds marinade and the other half in the green lightning from piney. Diced up some avocados, pickled some red onions and chopped some cilantro, jalapeños and green onions for garnish.

Marinaded shrimp for two hours. Now I don’t really like skewers for shrimp. Don’t care about having the shrimp all pressed together so put everything on a rack and put on the Primo. Since I don’t have a Blackstone, I promised with grill grates turned over on the rec Tec heated to 400 to cook up the corn tortillas. Kind of crispy, yet soft enough to fold. Perfect.

Put together and enjoy.

Some of the best seafood tacos I have ever had.

Nice! I grilled some shrimp tonight, didn’t have time to marinade though so I just hit them with Oakridge BBQ Smokey Chile Lime and one skewer with Crucible...I was thinking they would’ve made great tacos :thumb: nicely done.

Shrimp looks great! Going to try one of those marinades next time we cook shrimp.

Whoa! Love it.

I also really like the idea of some Smokey Chili Lime on some shrimp for tacos.

These options may have to make an appearance over here soon.

Thanks, everybody. Yeah they were delicious. I especially loved the tomato vinegar and oil marinade. That just might be my go to marinade for grilling shrimp in the future. I did make a few changes. Used tarragon instead of basil and added about a teaspoon of Spanish smoked paprika. Also upped the salt a little too. Using the downside of the grillgrates as a griddle for the tortillas was perfect.
