Was a good time for sure. Had BBS on one side of us, Slap Yo Daddy on the other, and Notley and AZ BBQ across from us - Good Company! Did all 6 meats with our best finish in Chicken, and introduced 7 new "team members" to contest BBQ. Big Country caught up to us after a few days in Mesquite, NV. Plus got to spend some quality time with Steph and the GF, and see a lot of folks we know!

congrats to harry and gary!...Chris it was great meeting you in person you made us feel very welcome..my whole team was so surprised how nice everyone was..also thanks to andy you were also very cool too..we should have waited until later in the day to come around and talk as everyone was busy but as soon as i mentioned the brethren..it was come on back check out my pit let me show you what i'm doing..so very cool..we can't wait to hit the trail and cook with you guys!..almost forgot alexa and vince it was nice to meet both of you too.

I am still in utter shock at my results. 1st Place Ribs, I didnt believe it when they called us. I even told my team mate to sit down because I thought for sure it was an error. It was such a high honor to stand between Jay and Harry.

Thanks to all that took walks, and thanks to all the Brethern and non Brethern that welcomed my friends (1st time at a contest) with open arms, and made them feel like part of our big family. BBQ folks are hands down the best in the world. You will never find a more giving, generous group of people in the world then you will at a BBQ Contest.

If all the world leaders threw a BBQ contest instead of political debates, there would world peace, and we would all get along, thats how powerful BBQ is.

Seriously, try to get them tender, meaty and not go overboard. I did not walk in this category (just did not have time to worry about this category), but others did using the sweet and spicy rub!
