Craigslist WSM looks odd

The BBQ Gods were smiling when I found a 18" WSM for $25.00
Two things seem odd (maybe it is an older model):
1. No thermometer ever mounted on lid...no hole either
2. No ash catcher under the bottom (no I didn't means scratcher)
3. The water pan is very shallow compared to my 14" WSM

I replaced both rusted grills, ordered the charcoal grate that was missing and ordered a River Country adjustable thermometer. I'm happy but just wondering if this was an original model...or whut???

"DO" is all I see on it. AHHHH. I see! 2005! Guess they didn't put thermometers on them back then.

Yep and shallower water pan too. Still a good deal if it's in good shape. You can mod the rest.

No thermometer, no hole, no external heat shield, shallow water pan until like 2012 or something.

It is in really good shape. i don't think it was used very much. Ordered everything i need to bring it up to speed.

Had the same purchase on Craigslist as well a few years ago...had to drill my own thermometer opening. None on the dome. Can't remember what year it was but still holds temps and works like a champ!
