Picked one of these up last Saturday, used it 3 times so far, loving the results

Smoked a top round to 115 then seared it in this, came out fantastic

Lots of the food in the video looked burnt on top. How is it in real life?
 
It seems to be a home version of a "Salamander" as used in commercial kitchens.
Am I wrong?

Would be a lot easier than cranking up the oven broiler for things that need that. 8)

Very much like the salamander only it has ceramic tiles like the old gas space heaters, outdoor use only, unless it rains like last knight
